Honestly, I think Europa League is a very weird competition. It's hard to anticipate the outcome of the games, because the big teams usually play with their substitutions, they are not really motivated for these matches, this is the reason why often appears surprises. In general terms, I don't like to bet on favourites' small odds, I always support the underdogs and I try to find the value on these teams.. Because this blog's target is to suggest probable winner picks, I will try to find some interesting tips :

MALMO v JUVENTUS

Juventus is in a must-win situation. Juventus is cleary the better and more experienced team, but I expect a more balanced match than the odds suggest. Malmo is a defensive team, they will probably play on counter-attacks. The Swedish team is playing well at home, this month managed to win the Championship, Swedish Cup and SuperCup so the morale is high in the squad. Juventus showed questionable performances on road in the past Champions League editions, so I don't expect an Italian feast, but I think the bets on Malmo (+2.5 AH) - 1.425 ; Juventus to win by one goal - 3.75 has value..

BASEL v REAL MADRID

A motivated, decent home team against a huge club but without motivation for this match, so I clearly will go with the underdog here. Okay, Real Madrid has a super roster with big names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos or Casillas, but they are already qualified from the first spot of this group. Basel has a great chance to secure the second place in this group, mainly because of the disappointing performance of Liverpool. The Swiss team made good matches at home in the past editions of Champions League and I expect them to give everything tonight against Real Madrid. From my point of view, 1.33 for away win is no bet for me, so I think if we want to bet on this game, we should consider one of these ideas : Basel to score - 1.53, Basel over 1.5 - 3.75, both teams to score in first half - 4.00, both teams to score in second half - 2.62 or Draw - 5.75


ARSENAL v BORUSSIA DORTMUND 

Chances are high that the match played on the Emirates to be the most spectacular of this Champions League evening, because there are two teams who have not had any emotion in terms of qualification into eighths and play an essentially offensive football. The two are similar by the fact that despite going well in the Champions League, they are playing very poorly in the Championship. Dortmund has the best attack in the group with 13 goals scored in four games, and in six of the last eight official matches scored at least two goals !  The lack of a significant stake will result a more spectacular game than we saw in Germany, so I expect goals to be scored by both teams...
